Miriam Halahmy writes compelling and acclaimed historical and contemporary fiction for young readers.

Recent books include YA novel Always Here For You (Zuntold), younger fiction Saving Hanno (Otter Barry Books) and middle grade novel Rip to the Rescue (Holiday House).

Behind Closed Doors (Firefly Press) was selected as the Manchester Metropolitan University Great Student Giveaway: “the clear and popular choice”; while Hidden (Troika), her book about asylum seekers, was nominated for the Carnegie and has been adapted for the stage. Her middle grade novel The Emergency Zoo has been optioned for TV by Red Planet Pictures.

A former secondary school teacher and a poet, Miriam Halahmy lives in north-west London.
